Kate and Harry: Two Peas in a Pod?

It seems as though the relationship with Kate and her hottie brother-in-law, Harry, has hit new highs. They are now sharing fashion trends…well, at least today.

We’re not sure if they teamed-up with a, “What are you wearing?” call today before joining Wills for a football match; but they showed up wearing matching wellies. How precious!

Yes readers, it looks as though both the Duchess and Harry both share a love for green leather-lined Le Chameau rain boots ($420).

We first spotted Kate sporting the kicks a few months back while taking a walk along the Wales waterfront with sister, Pippa. Today, she was seen watching Wills play a football (soccer) match at Castle Rising, an estate near Sandringham that is owned by Tory peer Lord Greville Howard.

While Harry chose to dress-down in jeans and a sweatshirt, Kate decidedly had a bit more stylish look. She teamed her wellies with a toscana sheepskin jacket from L.K. Bennett, an off-white wool sweater from Temperley London (perhaps the Honeycomb Tunic? $480) and fitted jeans. The Duchess topped-off the look with an awesome leather outback-style hat.

We’re so excited that Kate is getting on so well with the Windsor clan. There’s nothing worse than being at-odds with the in-laws! Perhaps Harry was asking his new sis for some relationship advice? Send him our way, Kate!

Happy Holidays from the Windsors and UKate!

Kate Receives Flowers from a Young Fan!

First of all…for those celebrating the holiday season, we at UKate would like to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Festivus (or whatever you wish)! We hope you are enjoying your time away from the daily grind and with loved ones today and thank you for spending your time with us over the past year!

So, how is our favorite Duchess’ first Royal Christmas celebration going?

Well, we all know that the Windsor’s family holiday at Sandringham was rocked with a bit of drama on Friday when Prince Philip was rushed by helicopter to Papworth Hospital in Cambridge after suffering severe chest pains.

The Duke of Edinburgh, 90, remains today in the hospital following an emergency heart surgery to insert a stent into his heart to open a blocked coronary artery.

The Queen, the Duke’s three children and six of grandchildren, including Prince Harry and William, visited him at the hospital after he was admitted on Friday.

Certainly this brought a new meaning to the TWO Christmas church services this morning that the Windsor clan attended.

The first was a private morning service at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham which has become an annual tradition for the Royal family since the early 1990s.

The Royals then returned to the church for a second mass, which is a community service, and were greeted by 3,000 people who had come to catch a glimpse of them…well, mainly Kate.

And the fans were certainly not disappointed!

Mary Relph, 77, from Shouldham, near Sandringham, who went to watch the Royals, said she had never seen as many people gathered to see the family in two decades. Sounds to us like the whole village was present!

She claimed, “I have never seen queues like this on Christmas Day before, I have never seen this amount of people here since Diana was alive. People obviously came to see Kate Middleton. And she was fantastic.” The Duchess apparently stuck around after the service for twenty minutes to greet well-wishers.

Kate stunned the crowd in a velvet maroon hat by British milliner, Jane Corbett.

A spokesman for Buckingham Palace told the Daily Mail that her matching coat was created by an independent British dressmaker, but declined to reveal the designer’s identity; only claiming, “The Duchess is keen to use independent British dressmakers, whose skills and craftsmanship she admires.”

After the services, the family retreated back to Sandringham to finish out the day with a traditional turkey dinner and a viewing of the Queen’s annual speech!

Merry Christmas, Windsors!

Kate Gets a Kick Out of Wills' Moves

After kicking off the holiday week looking dazzling while honoring war heroes, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made a stop on Wednesday at Centrepoint. The center for homeless youth is certainly close to Wills’ heart as he was introduced to the charity by Princess Diana as a young boy. He took up the role of royal patron of the organization in 2005.

For Kate’s first visit to the center, she kept her look casual. Looking chic as always, she teamed an olive green Ralph Lauren jersey knit dress with black suede boots and matching belt. The couple clearly had a good time at the event; first participating in a culinary class and wrapping up with Wills demonstrating his gift of “swagger” while dancing with resident Vanessa Boateng, 18.

Sandringham - Windsor Holiday Retreat

On top of the busy week of various Royal duties, Kate not only has last-minute gifts to buy – you know…just a little something for the Queen…no pressure – but also has to finalize her wardrobe for the Christmas weekend at Sandringham.

Readers, while many of us will struggle to even get out of our pj’s in our eggnog induced haze, our dear Duchess has revealed that she will make no less than FIVE wardrobe changes on Christmas Day. Yes…you read that right.

We’ll let Royal etiquette expert Jean Broke-Smith break it down for you. “Kate will need a casual outfit for breakfast, a smart outfit – and a hat – for the morning church service, a dress for lunch, a cocktail dress for early evening drinks and a full-length dress for the evening meal. The golden rule is nothing too short, too revealing or too gaudy.”

Seriously? And all while having to spend time with the ENTIRE Windsor clan in the safe confines of Sandringham? We certainly hope Kate kicks back more than a few at that cocktail hour.

And you thought your family life was stressful! The joys of being a Princess indeed!

Kate arrives at military tribute in Alexander McQueen

Kate arrives at military tribute in Alexander McQueen

Once again the Duchess Of Cambridge shined at an awards ceremony for British war heroes at London’s Imperial War Museum Monday evening. Princes William and Harry also attended the event and the three arrived together.

Kate looked stunning and graceful as always in a beautiful Alexander McQueen velvet strapless dress valued around $6,000.  She also wore Prada Satin pumps and matching braclet, necklace and earrings.  A St. James Palace spokesman said they were a wedding gift from a family friend who wishes to stay anonymous.  Nice wedding gift!

We haven’t seen Kate go strapless in quite a while and it showed off her toned arms – we’d love to get a copy of her workout routine!  Her second (reception) wedding dress appeared to be strapless but we didn’t see the whole dress as it was covered by a shrug.

It was said the event was an emotional night, she of course is a military wife herself and even handed out the Most Outstanding Soldier Award.

An article in the Daily Mail had some great red carpet pictures while this article in The Sun had photos from inside the event, including Kate handing out an award.

It was quite a busy day for our favorite Royal couple as earlier in the day they arrived at Buckingham Palace for a lunch event hosted by the Queen.  William decided to be the driver as Kate smiled in the passenger seat.  Perhaps the box in the back was a gift for the Queen?

Natalie Morales plays Pippa for Halloween

Natalie Morales plays Pippa for Halloween

Hope you all enjoyed last night’s NBC Special “Inside The Royal Marriage” as much as we did!  It was hosted by our favorite Pippa impersonator, Natalie Morales, and talked with a number of royal insiders.  Natalie reported from London and Anglesey, where the Duke and Duchess currently call home.

The special also featured interviews with people who had met the royal couple and they had nothing but glowing things to say about the royal couple, including mentioning Catherine’s “inner calm” she displayed on the Canadian tour.

In case you missed it (or maybe just want to watch it again), you can watch the full special here at NBC.com.

Readers…set your DVRs!

We know you’re all busy sipping spiked-eggnog at numerous holiday parties and burning up the AMEX purchasing gifts. We at UKate advise you to take a little break from it all to watch “William and Kate: Inside the Royal Marriage” with our fave host, the “Today” show’s own Natalie Morales.

The program describes, “Unprecedented access to family, friends and royal insiders, this special reveals what has been happening in the first six months of Will and Kate’s marriage and uncovers all the fascinating facts of every day life for this modern day royal couple.”

While we’re pretty sure this special is going to re-hash many details of the wedding, William and Kate’s first overseas trip to Canada and the U.S. and the ever-so-looming “When will the Royals Reproduce?” discussion; we think it’s probably worth an hour of your precious time. And hey…what a great break from all of the standard holiday programming, right?

“William and Kate: Inside the Royal Marriage” aires Tuesday, December 13 8pmET/7pmCST on NBC!

Kate steps out in Zara’s lace tulip dress

Kate steps out in Zara’s lace tulip dress

Tonight the Royal family including the Duchess Of Cambridge, Prince William, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall stepped out to watch Gary Barlow perform at Royal Albert Hall.

Kate looked lovely wearing Zara’s lace tulip dress (currently sold out, of course!) and a Ralph Lauren jacket for the occasion.

A couple of weeks ago we posted a picture of Kate with a Zara shopping bag - perhaps this was the outfit inside!

The group chatted with Barlow before his performance then enjoyed the show from the Royal box.  The concert was held to raise funds for the Prince’s Trust and the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.

We’re loving this look on Kate and a Daily Mail article about the concert has some more good pictures from the event.  Looks like a fun night on the town for the Royals!
